JOINT PROBLEMS

Joint problems can be effectively managed and improved by our highly skilled team. Wear and tear, tension and over-use are common reasons for joint problems. They can be divided into the following categories.

  • TMJ problems
  • Upper limb
  • Lower limb
  • Slipped disc
  • Spinal misalignment

Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ)

An often overlooked source of pain is the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) where your jaw bone connects to your skull. Dysfunction or injury in this area can cause pain, clicking and reduced range of motion making it difficult to eat. Our physiotherapists can perform manual therapy techniques and prescribe exercises to help ease the pain and restore function back to the jaw.

Upper Limb

Shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand and finger problems can all be looked after by our team at Achieve Physio.

Lower Limb

Our physiotherapists can assess and treat a range of hip, knee, ankle and foot problems.

‘Slipped Disc’

Have you been diagnosed with a slipped or bulging disc? At Achieve Physio, we first aim to settle the pain then we prescribe exercises that are safe and do not put excessive pressure on the disc. You may be surprised what you can do!

Spinal Misalignment

Do you feel like your spine or pelvis is out of alignment? With a quick postural and movement assessment, our physiotherapists check the alignment of the spine and pelvis and determine if this is contributing to the problem. We then use muscle energy techniques among others to help restore balance back to the muscles and correct the alignment.
